What happened to 7.5?

7.2 is much, much more than we first intended 7.5 to be, and if you measure the distance between 7.0 and 7.1 it should not be 7.2 or 7.5, but a “slightly” higher number.

But that was not the issue. We simply decided that 7.5 was going to be the last of the 7 generation and it would have to be “perfect”.  The wish list for things we wanted to do in 7.5 became so extensive that we realised that we had to be a little more practical and take it in steps, and hence we renamed the then 7.5 Beta to 7.2, which will then be followed by 7.3 and 7.4 before we reach our goal of 7.5.

The 7.2 released today is a much more complete and changed product than the 7.5 Beta One we released just before Christmas, and it is a product that we feel we can start rebuilding the future of DataEase around.

We have enjoyed creating it and we now hope that you will enjoy using it.

Our 7.5 BETA program will commence immediately after the launch of 7.2 and will be found at its usual place at http://beta.dataease.com.
