This introductory training course covers a number of key areas to get you started in DataEase. This course is aimed at users new to DataEase. It contains training notes and "do-it-yourself" exercises.
Aims and Objectives
By the end of this course you should be able to:
- Install DataEase
- Create a new application
- Create tables and forms with their associated relationships
- Enter, view and update data held in the tables
- Create reports (QBM) that address the data in the tables
- Create a user definition
- Create a start-up screen for the user
- Create a desktop icon to start the application for a specific user
- Explore data connectivity to other Windows programs
Pre-Course Requirements: Knowledge of DataEase is not essential but basic Windows knowledge is useful.
Length of Course: 1 Day, from 9.30 am to 5.00pm with one hour for lunch.

This training course covers some of the reporting and data manipulation available in DataEase. This course is aimed at users who have followed the DataEase Introductory Training course or are familiar with the basic concepts of DataEase 7.1. It contains training notes and "do-it-yourself" exercises.
Aims and Objectives
By the end of this course you should be able to:
- Write QBM reports that summarize data by group, suppressing detail
- Be able to place calculated results on forms and reports
- Use DQL to write reports, and have them prompt for parameters
- Use external functions such as keyboard macros and memory arrays
- Write documents in Word that obtain data from the displayed DataEase record
- Build forms and reports for data held outside DataEase, e.g. Access tables etc
Pre-Course Requirements: Familiar with basic concepts of DataEase 7.1.
