With the release of DataEase 7.1 Sapphire has introduced the means to publish your DataEase data to the web. In addition, using OLE DB technology, DataEase 7.1 is also able to publish data to the web from DataEase DOS, Access, SQL Server, Oracle - just about any platform that supports the OLE DB standard!
The component that allows you to publish data, WebPublisher 2, is an extremely simple and efficient point and click environment - no programming or knowledge of HTML is required to get your users browsing, editing and reporting on data via a browser.
A key requirement of installation however, is a web server based on IIS. This technology is well established and well documented and you may already have this set up in your organisation or have the necessary skills to do so. For those of you that are new to this technology or do not have the time or resource internally, then Sapphire can help. We can provide consultancy services to advise on hardware and software requirements and perform the installation of a web server to enable you to take advantage of WebPublisher 2.
