LegEasy 6 Windows - New Maintenance Relase #3155

Our users have asked us why they should upgrade to LegEasy 6 Windows? Is it simply because it will run under WIndows 7, or is there any other reason?

It is obvious that to be able to run your application under the current version of Windows is important, but LegEasy 6 Windows is much more than that, and we will look into that below, but the most important reason is simply:

It is supported, and we are committed.

Over the last couple of years, the entire "new" DataEase development team has been deeply involved in developing DataEase Generation 3 and the "all new" DataEase 8. The maintenance of the previous versions was left with DataEase International and The Sapphire Group. As things progressed, 4ThePeople took over all development from DIL/SAP and we quickly realised that we had a lot of users out there that was experiencing problems with running their applications. For various reasons, people could/would not upgrade to DFW 7, and suddenly with Windows 7 and x64, both DFW 6.x and DFD experienced serious problems. For DFW 6.x users we quickly realised that the short term solution would be to open the old source code and make a Windows 7 compliant version. But things are rarely that simple. Even though we had decided that we would not fix or enhance the existing functionality, we definitely wanted to make it "our" product, and give it a contemporary and attractive look and feel. Soon after releasing LegEasy 6 Windows, problems and limitations became obvious, and we underwent an intensive development period to make it compliant with modern screens, printers, memory management at so forth. Needless to say, the work and commitment that has gone into LegEasy 6 Windows, far surpasses our expectations but so do the welcome and appreciation we have received from out user base. It seems that the fact that one could get a contemporary and problem free running of a 6.x app under Windows 7, without having to do any migration or development work was exactly what they hoped for. So our commitment to LegEasy is now even stronger than ever, and the fact that we have released more than 10 maintenance releases/updates with extensive improvements since it's release earlier this year should answer the question... Why should I upgrade to LegEasy 6 Windows....
