DE9 - BETA - Problems at startup/login

Dear All.

It is called Beta for a reason and as frustrating it is for all of you that get problem - that is the point - from our angle.

We test things over and over but our problem is that we can't see the forest for all the trees. 

The best way for us to find the problems is for you to report back to us when you have them and you have - Thank you.

If you have the screen above after installing DE9 the problem is down to the configuration of IE (Internet Explorer on your computer). 

DE9 is 90% web based so all menus, catalogues, toolbars, desktops etc is written in HTML etc and rely on IE as an browser engine.

We do this by using IE as a plugin which need to be configured by the installation program.

If it is not correctly configured it will act as IE 8 which is not compatible with the code and hence all the problems.

The quick fix is listed above and it is simply to re-install DE9 as Administrator. You do this by right clicking on the installation packaged and choose 
"Run as Administrator"

Fixed installation problem, will now install and configure properly in WIndows 10. Only tested and approved version of Windows for Beta.

We check the license via a pipe and this pipe will at the moment be stopped by proxy etc.

We have done a manual fix which include setting your proxy settings in the dataease.ini but the guy that did it is on holiday at the moment but we want it to be automatic which will take a couple of days.

It is just a beta so there will be a lot of things that doesn't work. We now work on the feature so "boring" stuff like it working in all kinds of network settings,with migrated applications etc. etc. is part of the release work. 

The job now is to get as much NEW stuff as possible out there for testing and feedback.

I tried to install on  W7 but it did not process. On the W 10 it worked as descriped.

Will it run on W7 later?

don't forget "windowsmustdie" so it is more funny  to install and run de9 on Catalina 10.15.1

pS. we are trying to reanimate our windows 7 ;) it works but ... if we'll get success with de 9 beta on that win 7 we will inform ;)

The problem is most likely linked to either your firewall or you being behind a proxy. How are you connected to the internet and what Virus/Firwall software do you use and how is it configured.
