Remove Designer view application function buttons

In DE8 designer view there is a pallet of application function buttons. (shown at left in pic)
Is there any way to remove this?

This is the design toolbar. You can switch off in the app.ini or dataease.ini but it will also switch off the toolbar in RT.

The Design toolbar takes up screen space while most functions are not required very often during the design process.

What is the entry required in Dataease.ini to remove it?

the following entry does not work.
