We are now in the middle of the WhyNot? Project. Here we will look at existing "limiting" DataEase functionality and see if there is any good reason for the limitations.

In the beginning I thought there was a good reason for all these limitations, but then I discovered that it was more limited people or lazy people that was the reason, rather than real actual reasons that would hold up in court.

This is why we now take a critical look at a lot of functionality, and see if we can't simply take away restrictions and get some added functionality for "free".

One thing we are implementing is Virtual Memo fields, but what about Editable Virtual fields, could anybody use something like that?

I could, and then I think some of you could too.

We tell you to stay away from Data-Entry forms because they are dodgy, but do we give you a good alternative?

If you create a form of only Editable Virtual fields, you can relate, lookup, Multibox etc to your hearts content, and no record will ever be saved, and when you are happy, you simply execute the DQL etc.

Just an idea, Editable Virtual Fields is more than an idea, they are her!
