One of the things we really wanted to add to 8 was a RichText editor for editing documents, web content or simply add some "flavour" to your applications. Up to 8, DataEase data have only been able to be presented in one font, colour, size etc. You could not integrate pictures or formatting (other than spacing and CR) in your tekst. In 2012 this is simply not good enough, and to be honest, neither was it 2002... Just to get the ball rolling, we implemented a quite advanced RT editor almost at the beginning of the project. This has been to awkward and have not lived up to the expectations. We have been working with a replacement for a while, and are happy to announce that we have implemented the first part of it in 8.0.0.1172. Suddenly this feature became much more useful to our test panel, and we hope that you will experience the same. Just remember that it generate HTML code saved in a Memo field, so if you try to print it via normal DFW print functions it will be "gibberish". Luckily we have PrintMemo() that print such a filed much better than any previous DataEase print command.
