Will DataEase 5.5 work on a Windows 7 box?

When full DataEase for Windows was released the version numbers between Windows and DOS were harmonised.

They most likely thought it was a good idea at the time, but in hindsight it was stupid.

So the big question is which DataEase 5.5 are you running... ;-)

DataEase for Windows 5.x will NOT work in Windows 7 at all and neither in any later version.

DataEase for DOS 5.x will work in Windows 7-10 in x86 (32 bit).

If it is DataEase for Windows 5.x you can try to use the LegEasy 6 Windows you find here (demo with record restrictions).

This should be compatible with DFW 5.x

However lately we have found that DE8.5 works better on DFW 5.x applications so if you want to try that too, please email us on desales@dataease.com and we will provide you with a trial key.
