Licensing Issues

This morning a customer of ours had an issue with licensing, it said they had used two more than they had.  They had done nothing different to normal and were using the same machines as normal not new ones.  I logged into our partner portal and saw that the licensing listing had blanked out the four used computers but had not removed them from the licensed computer list and started to add them again therefore exceeding the number of licenses allowed.  I removed the blanked out computers from the list and they are now back to running normally.  I then tested this with our own license and got the same issue with ours as well and had to remove blanked out computers from the list.  This has obviously only happened this weekend or today as i have had no other people asking about it and everything was fine Friday.

Dear Rob.

We did an update over the weekend that went completely wrong.

It has now been corrected and sorry for the inconvenience.

We have changed our routines so we hope this will not happen again.

This was part of a change to the licensing engine so to make it smoother for the users, so it is extra “ironic” that we ended up accusing the users...
