Re:Table file DESTAAAK.DBA not found - 1

The problem here  is that the table that the form you start up with is missing.

You need to create a new form, or change the startup form.

Re:Re:Table file DESTAAAK.DBA not found - 1

the start up form is a "user menu" the menu file will not open

Re:Re:Re:Re:Table file DESTAAAK.DBA not found - 1

Tried your last suggestion. Can open a form or procedure but not menu. Created a form with button to call a menu and received same message.  Let me give more detail to you on this . Have a developer running with 4 users on a network. Each user has between 10 to 15 tasks that they perform daily, these tasks can be performed any number of time as well as in any sequence daily. Hence the use of "Menu's" each user has their own unique menu.and are set up to land on their menu.

1st message is "Table file DESTKAAAK.DBA not found - 1 " when click OK next message is "Table name already exists" click OK next message is a repeat of 1st message, click OK next message is " Error 1 adding form. Operation failed" click OK next message is "Error 400 getting record Invalid form handle" click OK then have blank screen.

i found 2 menu's that were created prior to 12/2015 exact same result as above except that the menu then does open and we are able to operate. one of these was modified and saved under new name this works but when menu is called we go through the routine of error messages as above.

on "application" i have tried to check "status of tables" message 1 repeats three times then "Exiting due to fatal exception Access violation

Inst pointer 0x0081E438, Stack pointer 0x0019978C" and closes system

I have no recollection of creating a table with name"DEST....." is this not a system table ?

Download DESTAAAK.ZIP

Hi again Richard.

You are of course correct. This is a DataEase Status Table.

It must have gotten corrupted for some reason.

Sorry for being so slow on the uptake. Can't see how it is related to menus though but lets hope replacing them would sort it out.

These files are regenerated all the time so they are of no significance (other than the possibility of causing problems it seems)

Try to download the attached file and copy the files to your application (take a copy first) and see if it solves it.

Re:Re:Re:Re:Re:Re:Table file DESTAAAK.DBA not found - 1

Tried your suggestion but no change. Decided to recreate database under new name with new menu's . Problem has been replaced by new 1st message "Document loading error" click ok 2nd message "Low heap memory" click ok, this routine continues another twice then lands on user menu. each time a procedure or form is selected from menu i get  same message routine. this happens on each user station but not on server How do i get rid of this ?

Re:Re:Re:Re:Re:Re:Re:Table file DESTAAAK.DBA not found - 1

I think we have found the source to your original and the current problem.

You run widely different versions of DataEase 8.5 in development and run time.

The difference between 2222 and 2500 is massive and again the difference between 2500 and 2674 is equally big.

We have not yet built in any mechanism to force users to use the latest or correct version but after we started monitoring what versions people use the need is dire.
