Is it possible to set up a button or funtion to enable us to scan documents (PDF) directly into a customer record? These would then be stored within the database.

The short answer is yes.

But it is not straight forward.

We did a quick google and found the above immediately.

You would have to do it via HTML and the WebField.

It should be possible in 8.5 but it is much more feasible to do this in 8.6 where the Memo Field is extended and optimised to 4GB.

In 8.6 onwards you should also be able to store images directly in the Memo container (you can do that in 8.5 to but as Base64 which is a very inefficient format).
