I used to use Dataease 5.3 late 1990s and I loved its simplicity and speed.

Now on 2020 I find myslef looking for an easy database to use for my local Gazette plublication storing subscription records and details and doing mail merges.  SO I was thinking lets keep it simple and find an old free version of dataease or for home use find  a newer version. Maybe a windows version. So as the GAzette is a free publication and I am editor and not paid for it. Please advise - should I find an old version of Dataease and buy it from ebay OR buy a newer version. As I am voluntary for 2000 readers I would rather it was very low cost or free.

So any advice please OR would anyone be willing to donate a free version of an old edition ?

Download the DE9 beta, you can use that for free until we release the product. 

At the moment it still lack some of the simplicity in production of Mail merge etc. but that will be rectified this spring. 

IN DE9 you can mail-merge stragiht to email as well as all other media.
