if I go to Application, Status, Refresh, the system opens a window “Application Status Error” which says “An error was encountered while generating Records Information”. And then a second window appears with the same header “Application Status Error” and the message this time is “An error was encountered while generating Table Information”. And then a final window appears with the same header but the message is An error was encountered while generating Server Information”. The application status refresh then finishes.

I have run this Status Refresh using dql and I still get the errors.

I tried it on 2 different PCs: Windows 7 and 8.1. I tried it on numerous different applications, some of which came with DE8.5 (CRM,AppTemplateClean, etc), and I still get the errors.

If I ran the application status refresh report in DE652 and if there was an error then the report would tell me where and what the error was and I could then go to the offending table and correct the problem. However, in this DE8.5 version there is no information at all as to the cause of the error.

Thanks for pointing this out. 

It is simply a bug in the later betas of 8.5. We have put it on the list and it will be fixed prior to release.

Thank you for getting back to me.

I had thought initially that I had a fault in an application that I was working on and I wasn’t looking forward to trawling through every form to identify the problem. I look forward to the new release.

I use Firefox and I am inside Dataease 8.5 when I sign in and then create a new entry and save it.

Problems with Saving Forum entry in Catalogue

Hi again.

Since DataEase is built in MSVC we use a WebObject based on IE.

When you open the Catalogue it will report the IE version, if this is too old or there is to many restrictions set in your IE it might cause the problems you describe.

The IE object is used both in the catalogue and in all the WebObjects in DE85 including the HTML editor so having the latest version of IE is adviceable as it will then comply with CSS3/HTML5 etc.

If your version of IE is up to date, the problem might be that you have disabled scripts in your IE.
