With a very old, many versions app, orphan code & forms tend to occur.

Application\Status is good to use to sort out and clean this up but some error messages do not give much info on where the error is.

remoteease.exe behaves the same as dataease.exe.

If you logon with a startup doc as required for user access, then on logout there is prompt if want to logout.
If "OK" is chosen then it logs out.

If the users are set up in the application with login that will allow the Developer access you need to install the DEPLAYER distribution and use that instead.

LE9 can be installed/copied to server and used like DFD without the need for installa...

The problem is 4.53 security using time stamp on userform.dbs as security tempering check. Some "funny" person set the time stamp to PHI i.e. 3.14 but  Microsoft fix for Daylight Saving is a "hack" so they don't just adjust for time they act...

That feature may be useful in future to export in DE9 but it is not available in DE6 or DE8.
The issue is for DE9 be able to retain the date field values when using a DE6 DBM import.

TO be honest we have never experienced that the built in export/import has crashed but the .export feature in old style DQL is know for failing and being very variable with speed.

This is put on a list but as this code has not been touched more or less since 7.x it's not a priority.

Importing from DataEase files is an obsolete functionality as most people export data for import rather than exchange database files.

I feel that you here are trying to fix something really easy in a very hard way.

I guess your customer has been running this in XP or somethng which is in reality MS-DOS 7 or something with ehanced support for LPT etc.<...

The prolem here is most likely that the wrong pritner is used in Workstation COnfiguration for Local 1.

This is the "Nightmare" we explained some time back.

This just save the link to the image hosted on the web as if you copy from the Web it will copy the link to embed.


You need a proper BMP i.e. clipboard image to be pasted into the HTMLEdit field for it to be automatically convereted to BASE64....

Your problem is that you don't have the right setup for you LE9 WebObject.

The WebObject in LE9 is based on Internet Explorer and it is self configuring. Default configuration is IE7 so you need to set a registry setting to have it emulate IE11...

you simply paste any cliboard image into that editor. The editor will automatically convert it to BASE64 which is a text representation of an image (or anything else binary really).

How to do that detailed please. Clipboard has image inside but it is impossible to paste from clipboard into HTMLEdit field. Thank You
