Up to 7.52 I could paste into a DE table (multi roll and multi column) from any spread sheet. This was a very quick and useful tool for quick data input. At my last check I can paste a single roll (record) or a single column (multi records single field) from a spread sheet without issue. With the release of 8.5 will there be any improvements in the function? I know I can setup an import from text, that is my work around right now. it's just not as fast or flexible.

Pasting was changed in DataEase 8.

Before data on the clipboard that contained CR would cause Dataease to ask if you wanted to paste as "multi-record".

This was "fine" as long as Dataease didn't support multi-line fields like Memo (and also normal text fields).

Memo's saw very limited use in DataEase prior to DataEase 8 but is now a crucial and much used fields and the constant "nagging" if you wanted to paste as multiple record was found to be very annoying and out of pace with time.

Sadly some time one functionality need to give for another that has become more popular.
