Problems with Read/Write Error all the time in 6.53

Hi.

I have just installed 6.53 on a new machine and it looks fine, but I get Read/Write Disk error all the time. It works fine if I hit ignore, but it is impossible as the message repeats itself 5-10 times before it will go away.

Anyone that can help?

Re:Problems with Read/Write Error all the time in 6.53

Hi Jonas.

LegEasy 6 Windows (6.53) is a little old fashioned in how it behaves.

1. It need to be installed with full read/write rights on its program catalogue as it opens some file with read/write permissions. If it doesn't get this it will not be able to open them properly and you will get this error.

So if you get this problem on a fresh install, this is the problem. Just make sure full administrator access to the catalogue without restrictions.

2. If this doesn't work or you have set up/tried to set up Multi user the problem is that it can't find configur.dat and denetwrk.ovl. As you might know these need to be moved out of the program catalogue and put on a shared drive.

So if DEPATH is set on your computer, 6.53 will look for these files in DEpath and if they don't exist you will get his problem too.

Go to Dos and type
DEPATH

Then check if the above mentioned files are to be found at this location and that they have full read/write access.

We hope this helps.
